1. Create one Project for your main work. Add custom instructions (your role, preferences, output format) and upload the documents you keep re-explaining — a style guide, a codebase readme, product docs.
2. Turn on Memory and seed it. Tell Claude the durable facts — your stack, your job, your formatting rules — and review what it stores in settings.
3. Learn the model picker. Sonnet 5 as default, Opus 4.8 for the hard stuff. This one habit controls both your quality and your usage burn.
4. Run one Research mode query on something you actually need — a purchase decision, a competitor scan — to calibrate what it’s good for.
5. If you code, install Claude Code. It’s included in your Pro usage budget: CLI, desktop app (Mac/Windows), claude.ai/code in the browser, or the VS Code/JetBrains extensions.

What Claude Pro does not include

• API credits. The API is a separate product billed per token at platform.claude.com. Building an app? Budget separately.
• Unlimited usage. 5× free is generous but bounded; the weekly cap exists even for light models.
• Image generation. Claude reads images (screenshots, charts, PDFs) but cannot create them on any plan.
• Priority beyond the apps. Pro doesn’t change API rate limits or grant early access to every experiment.
